This pendant features hyalite opal, a rare, glass-clear form of opal valued for its clarity and subtle internal glow. Unlike milky or opaque opals, hyalite allows light to pass through the stone, revealing its natural structure. In certain lighting conditions, it may display a faint green fluorescence rather than surface color.
The stone is hand-fabricated in fine and sterling silver, with a frame designed to support the opal while preserving its light-responsive quality. The construction emphasizes openness and balance, allowing the stone to remain visually unobstructed rather than enclosed.
The pendant measures approximately 44 mm x 12 mm and comes with an 18" plated chain.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece made around a hand-sourced stone. The stone was selected first, and the form was built to suit it, rather than forcing it into a preset design. Fabrication choices were made to keep the stone open to light and to preserve its natural character.
Because it was made individually by hand, this piece will not be reproduced. Minor variations and tool marks are consistent with hand fabrication and are considered part of the finished work rather than flaws.
